APOCALYPSE

" Apocalypse is a Project build up like a reflection about the concept of the end of the world (and its inevitability) inside todays cultural parameters, more specifically those ones related with the genre of apocalyptic and disaster films. Due to the range of the theme, I’ve decided to focus myself in analyzing the vast visual imaginary that apocalyptic cinema has provided to the western culture since the 50s till nowadays. For that purpose I have decided to analyze the use of the concept of landscape inside this kind of films and their relationship with the work of some painters of the Romanticism. Also I want to analyze the symbolic potential of this apocalyptic images and their significance within the imaginary of contemporary culture.
